The minimum rental period is 24 hours (one day).
Minimum rental age is 23 years on last birthday with at least two years’ experience on a full driving license. Drivers under 23 years of age may rent a car, at our discretion, for an additional daily charge of €10. The maximum rental age is 81 years.
The drivers must hold a valid driver's license issued in the European Union. Drivers from outside of the European Union require an international driver's license. All drivers must have held their driver's license for a minimum of 2 years. Nationals of EU countries, (including nationals of Norway, Iceland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Switzerland & Liechtenstein), USA, Canada, Australia do not need an international driving licence.
When you pick up the vehicle you pay the total amount due in cash or by credit/debit card.
For bookings made between 01.07 and 31.08 a 20% deposit is required for the following categories C1, E1, EV, F1, H, H1, J, L, S, S1, S2 to confirm your booking. This deposit can be paid online on our website by credit or debit card. If you do not have a credit/debit card, please contact us to deposit the deposit in a bank or even pay in cash at one of our offices.
Normal cars (jeeps excluded) are not allowed on unpaved (non-asphalt) roads. If you take a normal car off-road you will be liable for the repair of any damage found on the undercarriage, wheels and tyres of the vehicle, plus the replacement cost of cabin and air filters. Cleaning charges will also be applied.
It is the responsibility of the renter to check the condition of the vehicle and to ensure that any existing damage is recorded on the Rental Agreement when taking delivery of the vehicle. Any damages not recorded on the Rental Agreement and found when the vehicle is returned will become the responsibility of the renter.
Once you have made a booking, we will send you a confirmation receipt with the details of the booking. It is mandatory that you check the details of your booking (e.g. car category, gearbox (manual/automatic, features). It is not possible to cancel a booking at the pick-up location if all the conditions of the rental confirmation are met. The reservation will be considered a no-show.
The driver must meet the rental conditions as stated on our website and must have the necessary documents with him/her (driver's license and ID/passport). In case of non-compliance with the rental conditions we reserve the right to refuse the rental without refunding the deposit.
Unless otherwise stated on the Rental Agreement the vehicle is to be returned to the same rental office, at the agreed time (late returns will be charged a full day rental), from which it was taken. If you wish to return the car to a different office/location please notify us as soon as possible, an additional charge may apply. If the vehicle is returned with a very dirty interior a charge of €15 will be made for cleaning.
Extension of the contract is only possible after our consent and after payment of the additional rental days. An additional cleaning charge applies if on return the vehicle requires cleaning beyond the usual cleaning to prepare it for the next rental. The biological cleaning charge is €40. For cases where we will need to clean a seat, a child seat and not the whole saloon the charge is €20. For certain categories and more often for our offices in Thassos you may be asked at the time of booking to return the car due to limited availability early in the morning 08:30 am or the previous evening until 21:00. In this case you can pick it up at 09:00 am.
The duration of your rental starts and finishes according to the pick up and return dates and times detailed on your contract. Prices are confirmed at time of booking and are calculated on a 24-hour basis. Unfortunately Potos Car Rentals is unable to make refunds for vehicles which are picked up late or returned early.
A change to a reservation can be made through the "cancel/modify reservation" section at www.rentacarpotos.gr . A change in reservation implies a recalculation of the price according to the availability of vehicles, the prices valid at that time, the return station, etc. Up to 3 modifications are allowed for each reservation.
In the event of a breakdown or any technical issue please call the 24 hour support line, we will send an engineer to assess the problem as soon as possible. If they cannot repair it at that time, we will replace the car as soon as is practically possible.
If we determine that the technical issue has resulted from misuse or failure to comply with the terms and conditions, we reserve the right to take back the vehicle without replacement and charge you for the amount of the damage.

After hours services are subject to a €15 charge.
The vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel as recorded on the Rental Agreement. There is no refund for extra fuel.
Each car category consists of different car models with similar characteristics. We cannot guarantee you will get the exact brand, model or color you may have requested, we do guarantee that you will get a car in the category you have booked, or a higher category if there is no availability in your selected category.
We offer free cancellation on all bookings made via our website or by phone call. For bookings made online please visit this page to edit / review / cancel your booking. You will need the e-mail address given at the time of the booking and the reservation number. For phone call bookings please contact us on 0030 25930 52071 to inform us as soon as possible.
For categories C1, E1, EV, F1, H, H1, J, L, S, S1, S2 requiring a deposit for the months of July and August we offer free cancellation up to two weeks before the start of the rental.
If the booking is made less than two weeks before the start of the rental then the deposit is non-refundable. On receipt of the car, cancellation is no longer possible for the above categories if the conditions of the booking voucher are met (car category, manual/automatic gearbox, features). In the reservation it will be assumed that you did not show up.
If you choose to cancel your booking before it is confirmed by us or if due to a failure of our own system we are unable to confirm your booking, then your deposit will be refunded within 5 working days. The refund will be made exclusively to the same card that the payment was made on. For all other vehicle categories and for bookings beyond July and August, where no deposit is required, cancellation is allowed until the start of the rental without any charge.
In the event that the driver does not show up to pick up the rented vehicle on the day and time stated during the reservation without prior notice, Potos Car Rentals has the right to cancel the reservation after 1 hour without prior written notice.
Subject to availability, you can rent a car from Thessaloniki Airport and leave it on Thassos and the opposite. One-way bookings can only be confirmed 1-2 days before arrival.
All penalties or fines are the responsibility of the renter.
You are allowed to travel by ferry to Thassos island at no additional charge. Travel on ferry boats to other islands is strictly forbidden.
We allow on request housebroken pets to ride in rental vehicles with no additional fees provided they are properly contained in a travel kennel, container or cage at all times. For the health and comfort of subsequent renters of the vehicle who may be allergic to animal dander, the vehicle must be returned in its original condition with no animal hair or feathers anywhere in or on the vehicle. Renters whose vehicles require a detailed cleaning to remove animal hair or address sanitary issues will be assessed with a €40 fee.
Smoking is strictly forbidden in the cars. A €80 cleaning fee will be assessed for vehicles returned with evidence of smoking.
Mileage limits apply for short term rentals.
Keys and key fobs are not covered by our Insurance Policy or any optional extras to the insurance (FDW & WUG). The renter is responsible for the costs of their replacement or repair. We will also charge for the retrieval of any keys locked inside the vehicle.
Cross Border Rentals are strictly forbidden.

The following items are not covered by the standard Insurance Policy or with the addition of Full Damage Waiver and if damaged, lost, or stolen will be charged to the renter: underside, wheels, tires, glass and windows. Insurance cover for these items is available for the following daily rates.

The minimum rental age is 23 years old on your last birthday and you must have held your driving license for at least 2 full years. Maximum rental age is 81 years old.
Drivers must hold a valid driver's license issued in European Union. Drivers from outside of the EU must provide an up to date international driver's license. We reserve the right to refuse to rent an ATV, without reason. We reserve the right to ask you to demonstrate you have the required skills to drive an ATV.
Potos Car Rentals is responsible for the maintenance and technical condition of our vehicles. We guarantee the safety and road worthiness of our vehicles to ensure your safety. It is forbidden to carry out any maintenance or make changes to our vehicles. Under Greek law you are obliged to wear a crash helmet, we provide these free of charge. It is your responsibility to wear it. ATV's can carry a maximum of 2 people, including the driver. It is forbidden to carry more people, excess cargo or to attempt to tow another vehicle or trailer. All of our ATV's come equipped with a small, lockable storage box for your convenience.
The vehicle is for use on asphalt roads primarily. It is strictly forbidden to take the vehicle to Ipsarion mountain or Giola (natural swimming pool). Apart from those places, you may use the vehicle off road (only on proper unmade roads) with our permission, this will be recorded on the Rental Agreement. The vehicle is not to be used for commercial gain, competitions or races and if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The vehicle can be collected from of our offices, we also offer a collection service from your holiday accommodation, please let us know if you require this service when making your reservation. You are required to sign a Rental Agreement when you take delivery of the vehicle. It is your responsibility to check for any existing cosmetic damage and to ensure these are recorded on the Rental Agreement, failure to do so could result in you being held responsible for those damages. Unless otherwise agreed, the vehicle must be returned to the original rental station on the agreed date and time. In the event of a late return we will charge a ¼ of the daily rental charge for every hour over the agreed return time. If the vehicle is returned in an abnormally dirty condition, Potos Car Rentals reserves the right to charge an extra €10 for cleaning.
The duration of your rental is for the duration as stated on your Rental Agreement. Potos Car Rentals does not offer any refunds in case of late pick-up or early return.
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as recorded on the Rental Agreement. Failure to do so will result in a refilling charge of €10 plus the cost of the fuel.
The helmets we provide are your responsibility during the rental term. Damaged helmets cannot be repaired or reused and must be replaced at your expense. The replacement cost for a helmet is €60 and the visor €15.
The vehicle is rented with three keys, one for the ignition, one for the storage box and one for the steering lock. Loss of these keys will incur a €50 replacement charge (each).
All penalties and/ or fines are the responsibility of the renter.
Transportation of the vehicle on ferry boats is strictly forbidden
All vehicles are rented with CDW - Collision Damage Waiver (3rd party insurance), this is included in the rental price. It covers 3rd party costs up to €1.000.000. If you are responsible for an accident or damage to the vehicle, Potos Car Rentals will charge you an excess payment up to a maximum of €4.000. The cost of any damage to the storage box, helmets, mirrors, wheels, tyres and undercarriage of the vehicle remain the responsibility of the renter. Our insurance does not cover personal effects.
In case of any of the above, you must:
- Inform Potos Car Rentals immediately.
- Do not acknowledge responsibility in anyway.
- Report the accident to the police and make an accident report.
- obtain the names, addresses, telephone numbers and registration numbers of the persons involved in the accident.
- Do not move the vehicle unless instructed to do so by either the police, a representative of our insurance company or Potos Car Rentals
- Fill in the accident declaration regardless of fault according to article K70 of the Greek legislation.
Failure to comply with our Terms and Conditions will result in the immediate collection of the vehicle with no refund.
